Zackary E. Boomsaad, MD practices in our Sandy Springs office. Dr. Boomsaad is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and a minor in Classics. He studied medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. After medical school, Dr. Boomsaad completed two years of a neurosurgical residency at the University of Michigan Hospital. Eventually, Dr. Boomsaad transitioned into anesthesiology, completing his residency training at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He completed a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
On completion of fellowship, Dr. Boomsaad joined the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newnan, GA. As a staff member of the hospital, Dr. Boomsaad gained tremendous experience in the management of intractable cancer pain, including the surgical implantation of spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pumps, vertebral augmentation, and a wide variety of neurolytic procedures. Having developed an innovative treatment protocol for cancer patients with intractable pain and hyperalgesia, Dr. Boomsaad was invited to the Johns Hopkins Hospital as a visiting professor in 2015.
In his free time, Dr. Boomsaad enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and golden retrievers. He is an avid runner, with a longstanding passion for travel and food.
